WHAT WE BELIEVE

(Some essential Doctrines that we believe)

SCRIPTURE: We acknowledge the verbal, plenary inspiration of the WORD OF GOD. We believe it is infallible and inerrant and GOD has revealed His whole mind to us only through the 66 canonized books of the BIBLE. (2Pet.1:21; 2Tim.3:16; Dan.12:8,9 2Pet.3:15,16; Matt.5:17,18;John 14:26,16:12,13)

TRINITY: We believe in the Doctrine of Trinity. God is one in essence but three in respect to Person. In other words, in the one being of God, there are three Persons, of one substance, power and eternity-Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Deut. 4:35,39,6:4,

John 17:1-3, Heb.1:8,2Cor 3:17, John 10:38, John 1:1-3, 1John 5:7)

CHRIST: We believe in the Deity and humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is perfect God and perfect man. He is impeccable. (Phil.2:6, 7, Heb.4:15)

HOLY SPIRIT: We believe in the permanent indwelling of the Holy Spirit in allbelievers. (John 14:16, 17, I Cor.12:3, Rom.8:14)

Baptism of the Holy Spirit brings believers into the union with other believers in the body of Christ. Baptism of the Holy Spirit occurs simultaneously to salvation and it is not experiential. It is historical. (I Cor.12:13)

Filling of the Holy Spirit is different from the baptism of the Spirit. It is a commandment: continually being filled with the Spirit(Eph.5:18). Being filled by the Spirit means a believer is under the complete control of the Spirit. It is not a one time experience but rather a repeated experience which is essentialfor spiritual maturity and service. (Acts.4:31, 9:17, 20, I Cor.3:1-3)

SALVATION: Man is a sinner Jesus Christ is the only Saviour. Salvation is obtained by grace as a free gift from God through the precious blood of His Son Jesus Christ. (Rom.6:23)

We believe in the eternal security of salvation of every believer (John 10:27, 28).

CHURCH: We believe in the independence of the local Church and is governed by elders and deacons under the guidance and control of the Holy Spirit. (Rev. 1:2, Phil.1:1, Acts 11:22, 23)

PROPHECY: We believe in the pre-tribulation rapture of all N.T. believers and millennial reign of The Lord Jesus Christ on Earth. (I Cor.15:51, Rev.3:10, 1Thes.1:9, 10, Rev.20:4-6)

WHAT WE PRACTICE

(Some essential order of conduct in the Assembly)

  • We expect a believer who wishes to continue in fellowship with the assembly to bring a letter of commendation from the previous assembly in which he/she was having fellowship. (Rom.16:1-2 Act.18:27, 2Cor.3:1-2, Act 15:4).
  • Sisters should remain silent in the gatherings of the Assembly. They are not allowed to teach, lead or pray where brothers are present. They are at liberty to exercise their spiritual gifts at sister’s gatherings. (1Cor.14:34-35, 1Tim.2:8,11,12)
  • All Saints are expected to gather at all meetings of the Assembly. Forsake not the gathering of the Saints (Heb.10:25). Prior information of absence is appreciated which will enable the saints to remember you in prayer. This will further strengthen the bond of fellowship.
  • We oppose worldliness among Saints. All the Saints are expected to come properly dressed in the Assembly. Dresses should be decent and modest not only in the assembly but everywhere. (1Tim.2:9, Titus 2:12, Deut. 22:5)
  • Glorify God in our body. (1Core.6:20). Hence all believers are exhorted to abstain from smoking, drinking, pan eating, etc. Our body is His temple (1Cor.6:19, 1Thess.4:4,7)
  • Both divorce and abortion are abominable. (Ex. 20:13, Mark 10:8-12; Mal. 2:16)
  • Only those who are born again and baptized will be received in the assembly fellowship. So in relation to Baptism of a new believer, the elders will take the consensus of the entire Assembly before making the final decision to baptize the person. (Act.15:4, 1Pet.5:3, Heb. 13:17).
